About the Program

Update as of February 26, 5:05 pm

We have just been informed by Thurston County Public Health that we will NOT be hosting any additional COVID-19 vaccination clinics at either the Olympia or Virgil Clarkson Lacey Senior Center during the week of February 28 – March 6.

As soon as more vaccine appointments become available to us through Thurston County Public Health, we will send you the link to sign up for those appointments and publish the link on this page of our website, and our Facebook page. Thank you for your patience.

We are pleased to share that we are partnering with Thurston County Public Health to host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic.

Who: Seniors 65+. You do not need to be a member of Senior Services to register for the vaccine.

Where: Virgil Clarkson Lacey Senior Center (6757 Pacific Ave SE, Lacey, WA) and Olympia Senior Center (222 Columbia St NE, Olympia, WA)

When: We have been informed by Thurston County Public Health that we will NOT be hosting any additional COVID-19 vaccination clinics at either the Olympia or Virgil Clarkson Lacey Senior Center during the week of February 28 – March 6.

As soon as more vaccine appointments become available to us through Thurston County Public Health, we will send you the link to sign up for those appointments and publish the link on this page of our website, and our Facebook page. Thank you for your patience.

Appointments specific to our two center locations are scheduled on the Thurston County Public Health appointment portal on Senior Services’ website when vaccines are available.

How: When we receive COVID-19 vaccine appointment scheduling links from Thurston County Public Health, we will update our website with the link. Please note that the number of appointments is limited and will be reserved on an appointment basis. A unique scheduling link from Thurston County Public Health will be posted as soon as more appointment slots become available to us. We will continue hosting senior vaccinations in the weeks and months to come until all have had the chance.

We are excited that we will be offering this essential service at our Senior Centers for those who may benefit from the accessibility of our senior center locations and accommodations. Of particular concern to Senior Services is the prevalence of seniors in our community who for various reasons lack internet access. We are addressing this demand through the hard work of volunteers and staff to connect all seniors to vaccines.

Phone Stand-by Information

Please note that If you are on the phone stand-by list for a COVID-19 vaccination, it does not guarantee that you will receive the vaccine that day. Individuals on the phone stand-by list will be contacted in the order of sign-ups if an opening becomes available due to a cancellation.

Thurston County Public Health and the ‘prepmod’ portal DO NOT keep track of individuals on the phone stand-by list for future appointments. If you are on the phone stand-by list and not contacted on the day of the vaccine clinic to receive the vaccine, you must register again if you wish to sign up for a future appointment. Click here to find additional vaccine locations. Please continue to check our website and Facebook for the latest vaccine opportunities at our Senior Centers.

Please remember that this vaccination service is an ongoing partnership between Senior Services and Thurston County Public Health, and we will continue to provide vaccination slots as they become available, until all who want the vaccine, have been vaccinated. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we do our utmost to help meet the immediate need for vaccinating seniors in the community.

Second Vaccine Dose

    • After you have received your first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, you must schedule another appointment for the 2nd dose of the vaccine. The appointment for the 2nd dose of the vaccine can be scheduled at any COVID-19 vaccination clinic. It does not need to be where you received your first vaccine.
    • Your 2nd vaccine dose must be the same vaccine that you received for your first dose (Pfizer, Moderna)
    • The CDC recommends the following amount of time between the 1st and 2nd dose of the vaccine: Pfizer-BioNTech (30 µg, 0.3 ml each): 3 weeks (21 days) apart
Moderna (100 µg, 0.5 ml): 1 month (28 days) apart
