Take Action On This Event

About the Event

Olympia native, Britta Johanna Echtle, is a children’s book author and illustrator who recently launched That One Green Tile, a rhyming story of a girl who goes on an imaginary journey around the world as she explores the life of another little girl who looks just like her. At the end of the story, readers are reminded that for all our similarities, everyone is unique. And for all our differences, we share the same sky.

Join this conversation as Britta shares her background leading up to this stage in her life, the inspiration for her books, and her artistic process. Currently residing in Montréal, Québec, Britta holds degrees in Art, Education, as well as a master’s degree in Museum and Gallery studies. She was a children’s educator for ten years and is surrounded by inspiration in her roles as a mother and grandmother. Readers will find that her stories deliver a delightful rhyming cadence complemented with her ethereal handcrafted paper collages to depict scenes that emote a sense of wonder.
