About the Event

The Pacific Northwest (PNW) has been in the forefront of aviation and space activities for over a 100 years. William Boeing founded Boeing Company in 1916 and his company has been a pioneer in commercial and military aviation. More recently companies like Blue Origin and SpaceX have been trailblazing in the space exploration field. During this six-week class we will learn about aviation and space stories and facts. These stories will be told in a way as to not require any aviation and space background. Just bring your curiosity. First three weeks will be focused on aviation topics, starting with the birth of aviation to the evolution of commercial and military applications with stories of aviation’s role in the world wars. The last three weeks will cover space exploration starting with rocket pioneers, leading to Apollo missions to a moon landing, and the modern space exploration activities of life in space and travel to space. These stories will utilize interesting videos and lessons in aviation and rocket science. No registration fee required courtesy of the Museum of Flight. Six Sessions.
