This nature trip is rated moderate and has options. We’re headed to Crystal Mountain ski area for a summer time escapade. After a picturesque drive through the forests surrounding the venue, we’ll take the enclosed gondola up to the summit for breathtaking views of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding Cascades. On a clear day you can see the Northwest’s most famous volcanic peaks such at Rainier, Adams and St. Helens. Since we’ll be there at lunch time, you have several options for lunch on your own. The Summit House restaurant has great food with unbelievable views. Or enjoy fresh, local cuisine down below at the Alpine Inn Restaurant. You could even bring your own picnic lunch and find a scenic spot to sit, eat and enjoy the views. If you choose you can take a 60 minute guided interpretive walk at the summit.
