Bringing our guiding document out of the past and relating to the world we live in today. We’ll help decode what you might have learned in Civics class long ago and examine current issues, news,challenges and your questions as they relate to the words of that 18th century document. We’ll look at how amendments and court cases have reshaped what it said originally. War powers, term limits, impeachment, union rights, free speech, electoral college and more. Gery earned his Masters of Education from Western Washington University. He has 44 years of teaching experience from High School to University level. Gery has been awarded four Teacher of the Year awards from the Olympia School District Board of Directors to adistinguished Educator Award from Saint Martin’s College. Gery designed and taught Olympia High School’s first Women’s Studies course.
