About the Event

Bruce Lerro
Tuesdays, 1:00 – 3:00 pm, 1/22 – 2/26, Olympia Senior Center

When most people think of psychology, they think about learning more about yourself, understanding family dynamics or resolving marital conflicts.  I call this “psychology lite”. But there is another side of psychology.  This is the world of advertising manipulation, techniques of war propaganda and psychiatric attempts to brainwash people in hospitals.  If you’ve ever wondered why football fans are loyal to a team even when the owners and players are not, why people join and stay in cults, this is a course for you.  Take a walk with me on the wild, “dark side” of psychology.  To register and pay, call 360.586.6181. General Public/Member:  $68/$62

Bruce has taught for over 25 years as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Golden Gate University, Dominican University and Diablo Valley College in the San Francisco Bay Area.  He has applied a Vygotskian socio-historical perspective to the three books he’s written, found on Amazon.  He is also a pen and ink artist and a psychological counselor.
