Don Foran will explore, somewhat poetically, several social justice experiences and suggest how, even in our twilight years we can renovate ourselves. This is a man who once presented a keynote address to 4000 honor students titled “How Poetry Saves the World.” He has often said he “cannot not teach.” More recently, he’s convinced he “cannot not learn. Don, husband, father, and grandfather, was a Jesuit for 17 years and a priest for four and a half years. He taught English and Philosophy and Theology for forty-four years, mostly at colleges and universities in the Northwest; His course Guided Conversations about Great Literature is a perennial success at the Olympia Senior Center.
