"The Estate Store" is a new business in downtown Olympia, sponsored by Senior Services for South Sound, located at 510 Columbia Street (where "510 Interiors" used to be located.) This new venture will allow individuals and families to donate:

    · Furniture
    · Collectibles
    · Housewares
    · Linens
    · Art
    · and Jewelry...

... to Senior Services for South Sound, which, in turn, allows us to sell your former treasures for folks in our Community looking to re-use something in good condition. (We like the saying "Re-use, Re-Purpose, Re-cycle!"). Now, you ask, why would you want to donate to the new store? The answer is that because our economy is in the situation it is, some of our funding, both public and private, has decreased, but the demand for the critical services that Senior Services provides in our Community (and has done so for more than 38 years) has only increased, whether that translates to providing nutritious meals at any of our 7 meal sites or to home-bound seniors who use our Meals on Wheels program, providing respite care for 24/7 caregivers and adult daycare for their vulnerable loved ones (our STARS program-
Services To At Risk Seniors), arranging for transportation for an elder that lives beyond the Intercity Transit service boundary, or many of the other essential services we provide. (Click on the "Home" link on this page to explore some of these).

Whether you are a student looking for something for your new dorm room, or a son or daughter who is overwhelmed because you have to move your mom or dad to a retirement home and find something to do with their stuff, or someone who has a dresser and a couch in decent condition that you’d like to donate, the Estate Store is the place for you. Senior Services is a private non-profit organization, and we need your help diversifying our funding base so that we can continue to provide and even enhance our programs and services. And, your donation is also tax-deductible. And, best of all, your donation goes back into the community! It's a full-circle kind of thing.

For more information, call Deborah Montelaro, at (360) 586-6181, ext. 120. If you'd like to get involved, we are looking for volunteers to work in the store, pick up deliveries, and a few other duties.
